Hip-hop motivational speaker and compilation album conductor/ legendary hypeman DJ Khaled has connected with Nas with Amazing results. DJ Khaled has been breaking us off with a few teasers/video treatments from his recent project entitled Major Keys which dropped on July 9th. The first taste was a Jay-z and future laced track called I got the keys. It was solid but not my cup of tea. This one entitled “Nas album done” is more in my wheel house. The track samples the Fugees classic “Fugee la” and speeds it up in classic soul sample style with some uptempo drum and bass sounds to push it. Nas kills on this one with his classic refined OG with a street edge flow. Dropping knowledge and maintaining a tie to where he comes from of course lyrically Nas hasn’t lost anything and probably never will. This track feels like something that would have been banging in that classic 90’s era with a modern spin to capture the moment. Dope all the way around I may have to give “Major keys” a listen by DJ Khaled to see if he has any other gems like this on there….ENJOY!
