I must admit, I never was a fan of the traditional southern album cover but its gaudy DIY look has become as iconic as the snare roll in southern rap music. Shaun Brauch head designer and founder of Pen & Pixel is the godfather of these designs and of course these designs lead to the coining of the phrase “bling bling” or at least they think so. In the video below Shaun breaks down the rise of his iconic covers. ENJOY!
